Wczoraj zakończyła się kolejna edycja wręczenia nagród Soul Train Awards, które przyznawane są dla czarnoskórych artystów.
Wyróżnienia otrzymali m.in. Miguel (uznany za najlepszego wokalistę R&B/soul), Kendrick Lamar (w kategorii Album roku – “Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City”), Robin Thicke (za Przebój roku, którym uznano “Blurred Lines”, oraz za Współpracę roku – tę z Pharrellem i T.I.) czy Debiut roku – K. Michelle. W kategorii Teledysk roku wyróżnienie otrzymała Janelle Monáe za klip do singla “Q.U.E.E.N.”.
Podczas gali , na scenie wystąpiło mnóstwo gwiazd, m.in. Jennifer Hudson, Tamar Braxton, Warren G, Janelle Monáe, Vanilla Ice czy Chaka Khan. Ron Isley, Gladys Knight, Chrisette Michele, Eddie Levert, Eric Benet, Ruben Studdard i Candice Glover złożyli swoim występem hołd Dionne Warwick.
